The WoW frost mage is probably one of my favorite toons and specs to play in World of Warcraft.
The WoW frost mage can thrive in both PVE raiding environments as well as PVP with battlegrounds and arena play.
Leveling this class can be relatively easy and very fast once you master the basics of playing a cloth wearing spell caster.
The first thing you need to understand about leveling a WoW frost mage and it really applies to any class in the game. Survival is the key to power leveling.
This is because dying is the biggest loss of time when leveling. The mage class has many talents and skills to help avoid dying and continue leveling at a rapid pace.
Simply using frost bolt will add an ice slowing snare to your target that reduces movement speed and allows more time to complete a kill. If a target happens to make it close to you then you have other resources available. Frost Nova will freeze your target to the ground and you can blink away to provide space to finish the kill.
You also have your Water Elemental that can be used as a tank to grab the attention of enemies while you finish them off. Do not forget that your elemental also has the ability to Frost Nova which means you can freeze targets to the ground at a distance.
Let's get down to leveling your frost mage as fast as possible in World of Warcraft.
When it comes to leveling any class in WoW questing is without a doubt the most effective way to get any character to the level cap in the shortest time possible. However, all quests are not created equal.
There are effective quests and questing routes in the game that will allow you to get your mage to the level cap in as little as about 5 days played time. I can generally get any toon to the cap in about 4 days played time with just a few heirloom items.
Along with these effective quests Blizzard has also placed in quests that are designed to take a long time to complete and simply do not offer good reward or experience for the time they take to complete.
Avoiding these time wasting quests as well as making sure you have adequate bag space so you are not constantly looking for somewhere to empty bags can help you keep questing.
Continual questing without dying and not having to stop constantly are the most important keys to power leveling along with learning to play your mage effectively.
